Dress Code

Whimsical Romantic

We invite you to dress in rich, romantic tones inspired by nature at twilight. Think deep wine reds, warm browns, mossy and forest greens, soft olives, and elegant dark neutrals. Flowing fabrics, textured layers, and timeless silhouettes are especially welcome.

Whether your style leans classic, modern, or a little bit magical, we encourage you to choose something that feels special, comfortable, and entirely you.

Deep Forest Green

Rich and shadowy, like evergreens at dusk.

Mulberry Wine

A dark, romantic red with a hint of midnight.

Dark Espresso Plum

Nearly black, with a subtle warmth and depth.

Soft Moss Green

Muted and natural, inspired by forest floors and stone paths.

Antique Gold

Earthy and golden, like autumn leaves and aged wood.

Outfit Inspiration for the Lasses

Romantic silhouettes, rich colour, and beautiful texture set the tone. Think long or midi dresses with movement and soft structure — flowing skirts, subtle draping, statement sleeves, and timeless necklines. Fabrics like chiffon, velvet, satin, and jacquard photograph beautifully in deep wine, forest green, moss, and chocolate tones.

Outfit Inspiration for the Lads

For our Scotland wedding, we’re leaning into earthy, romantic tailoring inspired by the landscape around us. Think rich browns, deep greens, and dark, grounded tones that feel at home among stone, moss, and autumn light. Ideal colours include chocolate, espresso, chestnut, dark olive, forest green, and charcoal-brown blends.

If brown isn’t your thing, black is absolutely welcome, especially when paired with an earth-toned shirt, knit, or layer underneath. We kindly ask that guests avoid blues and bright whites, including classic white dress shirts, as they tend to stand out against the overall palette.

In terms of styling, this is the perfect moment to have a little fun:

  • Tailored suits or separates in brown, dark green, or tweed

  • Textured fabrics like wool, tweed, or brushed cotton

  • A quarter zip or fine knit under a blazer (black or dark brown works beautifully)

  • Earth-toned shirts instead of crisp white

  • Suspenders, scarves, or a wool overcoat for outdoor moments

  • Traditional Scottish hats or subtle heritage touches are more than welcome

A Note on Warmth & Footwear

Our ceremony will be outdoors, and Scottish weather can be cool. We recommend dresses with sleeves, or pairing sleeveless styles with a shawl, wrap, or tailored jacket for comfort.

Footwear should be practical and comfortable, as guests will likely be walking and standing on grass during the ceremony — block heels, wedges, boots, or flats are all great options.
